Weacknowledge all the treaties that are specific to this area: the Two RowWampum Belt Treaty of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy/SilverCovenant Chain; the Beaver Hunting Grounds of the HaudenosauneeNANFAN Treaty of 1701; the McKee Treaty of 1790; the London TownshipTreaty of 1796; the Huron Tract Treaty of 1827, with the Anishinaabek, andthe Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum of the Anishinaabek andHaudenosaunee. We respect the longstanding relationship that Indigenous Nations have tothis land, as they are the original caretakers. This land continues to behome to diverse Indigenous peoples (First Nations, Mtis, and Inuit) whomwe recognize as contemporary stewards of the land and vital contributorsto society. The three Indigenous Nations that are neighbours to Londonare the Chippewa of the Thames First Nation ; Oneida Nation of theThames; and the Munsee-Delaware Nation who all continue to live assovereign Nations with individual and unique languages, cultures, andcustoms. As we take a step towards reconciliation, we acknowledge the historicaland ongoing injustices that Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Mtis, andInuit) have endured across our country. We encourage our community tolearn about the traditional lands, Treaties, history, and cultures of theIndigenous people in our area. We accept responsibility as a charitableorganization to contribute toward reconciliation and establishingrespectful relationships with Indigenous communities through ourcommunity service and outreach.'
