Fueling Health and Connection at the Summer Breakfast Club

Throughout July and August, our community portable was filled with morning smiles and warm meals during our Summer Breakfast Club. Designed to bridge the nutrition gap when school is out of session, the program ensured local children had reliable access to wholesome breakfasts every weekday.

To keep mornings exciting and nutritious, we offered a diverse menu ranging from pancakes and French toast to smoothies, fresh fruit salad, and even chicken burgers and nachos! Beyond food, youth built lasting connections through creative activities like pen-pal writing, crafting "Letters of Hope," and participating in a special workshop on canine body language to learn how to interact safely with dogs.

This impact was made possible through extraordinary community teamwork. We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated volunteer groups: the London Police Services Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI), the United Way Day of Caring team from Jones Healthcare Group, and our own LUSO Youth Program leaders. Together, they created a safe, welcoming, and nourishing environment where youth could thrive all summer long.
