Multicultural Outreach Program

Description

The Multicultural Outreach Program provides customized workshops, presentations, and training on race relations, cultural conflict, racial identity, cultural literacy and cultural competency. This program offers a pivotal service to children, youth, educators, parents, professionals and community groups. This program addresses the dynamics of culture and race in an inclusive way, and addresses audiences in schools, group homes, financial institutions, corporations, community organizations, sport teams, conferences, home and school associations.

The program also hosts an annual video contest to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The contest provides an opportunity for students to come together to deliver powerful anti-racism messages in an artistic format.

The main goal of this program is to improve the school and wider community's ability to effectively deal with incidents of racial and cultural discrimination.

This service is offered through a fee-for-service model. For more information about the program, contact Leroy Hibbert, Multicultural Outreach Program Coordinator via email: outreach [at] lusocentre.org (outreach[at]lusocentre[dot]org) OR via telephone: 519-452-1466 (office), 226-235-7391 (cell).
